Oregon clammers can learn about proposed regulation changes for commercial clamming in Tillamook and Netarts bays at an upcoming presentation by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 11 at the Oregon Dept. of Forestry Bldg. Conference Room, 5005 3rd St., Tillamook, Ore. The agenda includes a discussion of proposed regulation changes that ODFW may recommend to the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission and an opportunity for public comment. The proposed regulations include changes to annual landing limits, size limits, and locations for commercial harvests, and are based on several years of work to improve the balance between resource protection and harvest opportunities, said Mitch Vance, ODFW shellfish project leader.
