City of North Bend release – The Oregon Economic Development Association (OEDA) recently awarded North Bend City Administrator David A. Milliron the prestigious Oregon Certified Economic Developer (OCEcD) certification. Designed by and for Oregon’s economic development professionals, the OCEcD program is an intensive two-year, 64-credit journey that entails eight mandatory training courses. The curriculum offers a comprehensive understanding of economic opportunities, current trends, essential competencies, and the tools necessary to thrive in the global economy. It emphasizes economic development within Oregon’s diverse landscape, spanning urban and rural areas. Graduates of this rigorous program earn the Oregon Certified Economic Developer Certification, marking their proficiency in the principles and practices of Oregon’s economic development. Milliron was recognized during OEDA’s Oregon Economic Developer Conference in Eugene. Mr. Milliron brings an impressive background to this distinction. As an International City/County Management Association credentialed manager (ICMA-CM), he boasts over 15 years in local government roles. His extensive credentials include the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), Certified Municipal Government Finance Officer (CMFO), and Certified Public Manager (CPM). In leadership roles, David serves as the Board Vice Chair/Treasurer for the CCD Business Development Corporation, Executive Director of the North Bend Urban Renewal Agency, Board Chair for the South Coast Development Council, and an ex-official Board Member with the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Milliron’s management expertise extends across states, having led local governments in Georgia, Kentucky, and Oregon. He also actively participates in the Ethics, Professional Development, and Communications Committees for the Oregon City/County Management Association.
