News release CCSO.  During the months of June and July 2017 the Coos County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the unlawful dumping of trash which occurred on publicly owned property in the Beaver Hill area of Coos County.  Coos County Foresters located approximately two tons of household trash and personal effects which had been illegally deposited in the woods.  In looking over and searching the scene it appeared much of the items were consistent with the cleaning out a residence from previous occupants.  Evidence collected at the scene by deputies showed a connection to 357 N. Wasson, Coos Bay. The investigation continued by Sheriff’s Office deputies and showed Danielle Kelley was the primary person responsible for a residence at 357 N. Wasson Street in Coos Bay, Oregon which had been subject to a foreclosure.  Additionally, the Coos Bay City Code Enforcement had open cases which required corrective actions be taken to properly dispose of the household trash which had accumulated in and on the property.  Although some of the trash was collected and properly disposed of it appeared, and our investigation showed a large amount was not taken to the refuse center.  It was instead dumped into the woods at the end of a logging road. With the assistance of Coos Bay Police and Coos Bay Code Enforcement the primary responsible person was identified as Danielle Kelley.  Coos County Deputies attempted to locate Danielle Kelley several times but the occupants of the residence refused to answer the door.  An Officer from the Coos Bay Police Department assisted in the investigation by later locating Danielle Kelley and issuing her two criminal citations on behalf of the investigating Deputy. The Coos County Sheriff’s office worked in conjunction with the Coos County Forestry Department and the Coos Bay Police Department. Danielle Kelley was cited in lieu of custody for Offensive Littering and Disorderly Conduct.
