Officer Involved Shooting, Oct. 2

In the early morning hours of September 30, 2017, a Polk County Deputy Sheriff attempted to stop a 1996 blue Honda Civic on Wallace Road in West Salem. The driver of the vehicle then fled and a pursuit began. The pursuit went through West Salem and continued into Northeast Salem. The pursuit ended at the intersection of Oak Park Drive NE and Mooreland Ave. NE in Salem where shots were fired. The driver then fled the scene in the Honda, which was found abandoned nearby. We are asking the public for assistance in locating, Timothy J. George, a person of interest. George is 29 years old, 6 feet tall, approximately 150 pounds with black hair and green eyes. George has a tattoo on his right forearm. If you see George or know of his whereabouts, call 911 or the Oregon State Police dispatch center at 1-800-452-7888.  *** Update on GEORGE*** On October 1, 2017 Marion County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested George. George was arrested and lodged on a previous issued warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (UUMV). The officer involved shooting is still under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
