Old Time Radio Show ‘A Christmas Carol’ to benefit the food bank, Dec. 9

This year Scrooge And Tiny Tim are joining with Liberty Theatre and Bay Area Hospital to feed the hungry on the south coast. The Liberty Theatre, home of Little Theatre on the Bay, is pleased to announce it will be presenting ‘A Christmas Carol’ Old Time Radio Show to benefit the Oregon Coast Community Action Food Share program. All donations at the door will be given directly to the food share program so that it will benefit the local community this Christmas season. Expenses for this year’s production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ were underwritten by Bay Area Hospital. Scheduled for December 9th through the 18th, Friday and Saturday 7pm, Sunday at 2pm the admission cost will be 4 cans of food per person. All seats will be on a first come first served basis, general admission seating. The Old Time Radio Show is performed by the Ear Theatre Players and is their third Christmas season performance together. Their show includes live sound effects, live radio commercials, and several popular skits from the golden age of radio, like Abbot and Costello, Andy Griffith, and Burns and Allen. This year’s performance follows their highly successful run at the Liberty Theatre last year of ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’. There are several special guests scheduled to appear on various dates in this years show for a reading of the heartwarming poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’. This wonderful group of community leaders scheduled to appear include North Bend Mayor Rick Wetherell, Judge Paula Bechtold, Steve Greif, Mike Lehman ORCCA Executive Director, and Dr Thomas McAndrew, and Lexi Ryan Ambassador of Rock at the Wave 105.9. The faithful advertisers for this years show include North Bend Lanes, the Pancake Mill, Theresa Zamora Realtor, Oregon Pacific Bank, Benetti’s Restaurant, and Bay Eye Clinic. Through their generosity and with the sponsorship of Bay Area Hospital this heartwarming Old Time Radio Show is able to offer an admission price of only 4 cans of food per person. This food will be given directly to the Oregon Coast Community Action Food Share Program. “To be the recipient of the proceeds from this wonderful event will be a great relief to our food share program this year,” says Sara Stephens, Development Director, Oregon Coast Community Action. Since 1959, the LTOB has operated and managed North Bend’s historic Liberty Theatre as a performing arts venue serving residents and visitors to Coos County. The Little Theatre on the Bay (LTOB) is a 501(c)(3) non?profit organization whose mission is “to cultivate the arts in Coos County.”
