OMSI is coming to Coos Bay! The Coos Bay Public Library will be hosting two traveling exhibits from Oregon’s Museum of Science and Industry on January 28th. The Amazing Whales exhibit allows young marine biologists to take an up-close look at whales, examine baleen, and learn about the adaptations, habitat and stewardship of these amazing mammals. Students will touch real whale artifacts and crawl inside a life-size inflatable whale. The Portable Planetarium brings the night sky inside with live presentations. It is a memorable way for children to learn about the night sky, space exploration, the solar system, and beyond. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity! Registration is required and participation is limited, so be sure to get your child registered as soon as possible. Events will be held at the Coos Bay Firehouse. Information is available at the library, and online at the library’s website. Beginning in January, the Coos Bay Public Library will be kicking off two new programs. Mother Goose on the Loose is an active and engaging early literacy program for your infant or toddler and will take place every Wednesday starting January 8th. LEGO Club will meet once a month and is open to all school-aged children and their parents and siblings. More information is available on the library’s website.
