It was 3.5 feet long, weighed 100 pounds, was bright orange and it washed up on a North Oregon Coast Beach. Wednesday morning beachgoers on Sunset Beach near Seaside came upon the unusual fish and contacted the Seaside Aquarium. Officials hurried to the beach to recover it. Turns out to be a rare Opah Fish. Aquarium officials plan to freeze it and then make it available this fall for educational opporutunities.
