A land purchase that would complete the multi-year acquisition of the Gilchrist State Forest in central Oregon will lead the agenda when the Oregon Board of Forestry meets March 5 in Salem.  The board will also honor outstanding forestry educators, and grant Operator of the Year awards to three forestry companies for exemplary work that meets or exceeds the natural resource protection requirements of the Oregon Forest Practices Act. Additional agenda items focus on water quality and management of state-owned forestlands.
