Oregon LNG, Dec. 19

The Oregon Court of Appeals on Wednesday, Dec. 17, upheld a decision by Clatsop County in denying a permit for Oregon LNG’s proposed pipeline. The county ruled in October of 2013 that the 41-mile long, high-pressure gas pipeline violated the county’s land use rules. Oregon LNG challenged the decision and appealed. The court’s ruling sends the denial back to the State Land Use Board of Appeals. If LUBA upholds the decision on any ground, the county’s denial will stand. Oregon LNG has proposed building an export facility near Warrenton on the Columbia River. It is one of two proposed LNG projects in the state. The other is the Jordan Cove Energy Project proposed for the North Spit on Coos Bay.
