The No. 10 seed Oregon volleyball team swept through its NCAA Tournament first round match against Santa Clara, Thursday, winning 25-15, 25-17, 25-16 at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene. Oregon will face LSU in the second round, Friday at 4 p.m.

The No. 17/18 Oregon State women’s basketball team matched its second-best start in school history on Thursday by improving to 6-0 with a 75-53 victory over Idaho at Gill Coliseum. A Beavers Beyond the Classroom gathering of 7,537, the third-largest crowd in school history, saw the Beavers (6-0) win their sixth consecutive game by 10 or more points, and their 13th consecutive home game over the past two seasons. The Beavers go for a school-record 14th consecutive home win at 2 p.m. Saturday when they host Sacramento State in a Dam Hunger game. Fans will be admitted free of charge with the donation of two non-perishable food items, or an unwrapped toy.

Oregon and Arizona play for the Pac-12 football championship tonight at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. The 6 p.m. game will be televised by Fox.

Riley heads to Nebraska
Oregon State football coach Mike Riley has left the Beavers, again, this time to be head coach at Nebraska replacing a fired Bo Pelini. Riley coached OSU for 14-seasons spanning two tenures. He leaves with 93 wins and a 6-2 record in post season bowl games. Oregon State went 5-7 this year.
