After standout performances against Washington State and Washington, Oregon sophomore Jillian Alleyne was named the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced on Tuesday.  To qualify a player has to win her conference player of the week as well. Alleyne was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Monday.  She is the first Pac-12 Conference player to earn the award this season.

Phil Knight Bobblehead
The University of Oregon Athletic Department has unveiled the bobblehead that all fans attending Saturday’s game against USC will receive.  The University launched a “Phil It UP” campaign with the goal of honoring one of the University’s greatest alumni by selling out Matthew Knight Arena for the USC game.  The Athletic Department has named the game “Appreciation Knight” and will honor Phil Knight, as the Nike co-founder celebrates his 76th birthday.  All fans in attendance will receive the one-of-a-kind Phil Knight souvenir bobblehead.

Oregon State junior all-arounder Chelsea Tang was named the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week for Jan. 13-19 when weekly honors were announced by the Pac-12 Conference office Tuesday.  Tang, a native of Eugene, earned two individual titles in Saturday’s dual meet win over Iowa State in the Beavers’ home opener. Tang set three season-highs tying for first on uneven bars matching her career-best of 9.875. She added a 9.80 on floor exercise and taking the all-around title with a score of 39.275.  This is Tang’s first Gymnast of the Week honor and Oregon State’s 24th all-time.
