Oregon’s men opened the 2015 Pac-12 basketball season with a 71-59 Civil War win over Oregon State (9-4) Saturday night at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene. Oregon improves to 11-3 on the season. The Ducks host the Pac-12’s top-ranked team, No. 8 Arizona, in Matthew Knight Arena on Thursday (7:30 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks). OSU resumes Pac-12 action against Arizona State at 6 p.m. Thursday at Gill Coliseum. It will be televised by Fox Sports 1.

The Oregon women’s basketball team opened Pac-12 play on Saturday at USC, falling 70-54 to the Women of Troy at the Galen Center. The Ducks cut a 19-point first half deficit to just six points midway through the second but could not complete the comeback. Oregon slides to 7-5 (0-1 Pac-12) with the loss. The Ducks stay in SoCal to meet UCLA at 5 p.m. on Monday at Pauley Pavilion. The game will be aired live on Pac-12 Networks.

The No. 13/13 Oregon State women’s basketball team held UCLA to 25 percent shooting (15-for-60), as the Beavers opened Pac-12 play with a 65-47 victory in Pauley Pavilion. The win brings the Beavers to 11-1 on the season, the best start in school history through the first 12 games. The Beavers will look for their first road sweep of the Southern California schools since 2001 on Monday, when they take on USC at the Galen Center.
