UO & OSU Quarterbacks Selected
The starting quarterbacks for the University of Oregon and Oregon State University have both been selected to the “Watch List” for the Davey O’Brien Award honoring the nation’s top collegiate signal caller.  The Ducks’ Marcus Mariota was a semi-finalist a year ago before a knee injury slowed him in November.  The Hawaii native is a junior.  OSU senior Sean Mannion was also named to the Davey O’Brien “Watch List”, released Wednesday by the Davey O’Brien Foundation.  Mannion is one of 39 signal callers on the initial list.  The Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award is handed out by a selection committee asked to consider academics, character, leadership and sportsmanship along with quarterback play. Semifinalists will be announced in early November, and three finalists will be determined later that month.
