Porter Clayton and Trent Paddon combined to give Oregon the effort on the mound it needed at Portland on Wednesday in a 3-2 win. With a depleted bullpen after a 12-inning loss to Oregon State on Tuesday, and a three-game series starting on Friday at Arizona State, the Ducks (35-14) didn’t have many arms to turn to against the Pilots (10-35).

No. 1 Oregon plays a three-game Pac-12 softball series at Arizona beginning Thursday while UCLA visits ASU, with the Ducks looking to hold off the Bruins for the Pac-12 Championship this weekend. Oregon and Arizona, 5 p.m. Thursday, 7:30 p.m. Friday, and 11:30 a.m. Saturday to end the regular season.
