Despite falling 3-1 on Thursday, the Oregon volleyball team (14-11, 7-8 Pac-12) put a scare into No. 6 Stanford (19-5, 12-3) as the Ducks were on the verge of taking a 2-1 set lead. Instead, the Ducks faltered down the stretch of the third set and the Cardinal went on to win 25-15, 20-25, 25-23, 25-15 in Eugene. In Corvallis, Lila Toner tallied a team-best 20 kills and Becky Defoe posted 20 digs but the Oregon State volleyball team was edged in four sets by No. 20 California Thursday night at Gill Coliseum.

Oregon hosts Utah in a Pac-12 football game Saturday, 1 p.m., at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports. Oregon State plays at Arizona State Saturday night, 6:30 p.m., on the Pac-12 Network.
