The Second Annual Oregon Paddle Out will be held July 14 & 15 at Newport’s Agate Beach on the Central Coast. The event is held to remember surfers/paddlers who lost their lives. Activities begin with a meet and greet Friday at Ossie’s Surf Shop, 5 p.m. On Saturday, the pre-paddle out will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the Paddle Out at 12:30 p.m. Participants will form a circle a couple of hundred yards off shore below the Yaquina Head cliffs. Last year, 62 Oregon surfer’s names were read. Twenty-six are expected to be honored this year including one from the South Coast, Tim Lucas.
