The Oregon Promise provides grants to new high school and GED recipients who will begin community college classes in Fall 2016. GED Candidates who earn their GED qualify for the Oregon Promise grant. To qualify, GED students must finish their GED between March 1, 2016 and August 30, 2016. Students must enroll in community college by Fall of 2016 and be enrolled at least half time (6 or more credit hours) each term. To remain eligible once enrolled in college, students must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and be working towards a degree or certificate of completion. Applications for the Oregon Promise must be submitted by March 1, 2016 — even if you have not yet completed your GED — and must include The Oregon Promise application and the 2016-2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
