Oregon Responds to Hurricane Michael, Oct. 10

The Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal, through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC), is working with Oregon’s Office of Emergency Management to support a request from the Florida Division of Emergency Management for All-Hazards Incident Management Teams (IMTs) to support the response to Hurricane Michael. The OSFM Green IMT, led by Chief Hallman, will depart Oregon on Wednesday, October 10. The team will work 14 days and plan to return to Oregon on October 25. Chief Hallman is a native Floridian and previous Florida State Fire Marshal. His experience and expertise will be invaluable as he leads his team to assist in the recovery efforts of his home state. At this time no specific work site in Florida has been determined as state officials are working on preparation for the response; however it is likely they will be working in the field with one of the affected counties. We wish success to the team and will keep Florida in our thoughts as they prepare for this storm.
