Oregon State Marine Board, July 22

The Oregon State Marine Board will hold a work session on July 22 from 1 pm to 5 pm with invited online testimony and will discuss two topics. The first discussion will focus on potential rules for the Lower Willamette River, and then the Board will hear about ways to increase opportunities for boating on North and South Twin Lakes for persons with disabilities. The Board will hold its quarterly meeting on July 23, beginning at 8:30 am via Microsoft Teams and live-streamed from the agency’s office, 435 Commercial Street NE, in Salem. The Board will enter executive session per ORS 192.660(2)(h) and at the conclusion, reconvene into its general meeting to discuss and consider the following agenda items: Agency Budget -Board approval; Update on Rapid Response Exercise for Aquatic Invasive Species; Possible Rulemaking via Petition to amend OAR 250-010-07610, Waterway Access Permit Expiration Dates – option to initiate rulemaking process; Possible Rulemaking via Petition to amend OAR 250-010-0010 and OAR 250-010-0154 regarding paddlecraft and personal flotation devices – option to initiate rulemaking process; Possible Rulemaking via Petition to amend OAR 250-020-0032 and OAR 250-020-0385 regarding wake surfing on the Willamette River in the Newberg Pool -option to initiate rulemaking process; Lower Willamette River Rules Recommendations – option to direct staff to propose rules; Rulemaking for North and South Twin Lakes and Boaters with Disabilities – option to direct staff to propose rules; Executive session ORS 192.660(2)(i).
