Slid 100-Feet
The operator of a red Harley-Davidson motorcycle, that went out of control, tipped over and slid about 100 feet on Hwy. 42, south of Coos Bay, April 14, declined medical treatment. According to an Oregon State Police report, the accident, near the Coos Bay Speedway entrance, occurred about 5:11 p.m. The motorcycle, operated by 26-year old Markus Anthony Anderrozzi, came to rest in the gravel median. The bike had to be towed.
Hwy. 101 Accident
Injuries were reported when two vehicles crashed on Hwy. 101 at milepost 276, April 15, about 10:44 a.m. According to an OSP report, two juveniles, ages three & five, were in one of the involved vehicles. Twenty-two year old Hayley Brianne Powell, of Bandon, was operating one of the vehicles, while the other was driven by 71-year old John Anthony Powell. Damage was estimated at more than $1,500 for each vehicle, which had to be towed from the accident scene.
No Seat Belt & a Brake Light out
A gold Subaru, stopped on Hwy. 242, Powers Hwy., April 15, 1:08 p.m., for a driver not wearing a seatbelt and for a brake light out, led to a warrant arrest. According to an OSP report, 48-year old Rachel Anne Bell was arrested after being “found to have a misdemeanor warrant out of Jackson Co. for Failure to Appear. She was taken into custody and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille. The driver, 37-year old Travis McKinney, Broadbent, “stated that he drives several times a day between Broadbent and Powers while being suspended. The vehicle was impounded and McKinney cited for DWS Violation and Driving Uninsured.
Driver cited, vehicle impounded
A traffic stop April 16, 10:50 a.m., Hwy. 101 and Randolph Lane, north of Bandon, of a Toyota Tercel led to a vehicle impoundment and a citation to the driver. According to an OSP report, 46-year old Dusty Earl Rice, Reedsport, was cited and released for DWS-Misdemeanor. He was also cited for Failure to Install IID and for having an Open Container of Alcohol.
Minor Injuries to 92 yoa Female
She only had minor injuries after rolling her while Lexus L43 April 17, 3:20 p.m., Hwy. 101, milepost 333 in Curry Co. According to an OSP report, 92-year old Beverly Louise Larsson sustained minor injuries after the vehicle rolled over. Damage estimate exceeded $1,500. The vehicle was towed.
Marijuana in Sight
An Oregon State Police trooper could see a bag of marijuana in an individual’s pocket as he was approached April 20, 11 p.m., on the 1900 block of Newmark Ave. in Coos Bay. According to an OSP report, 35-year old Jon Jacob Winfield was contacted while sitting in blue Toyota TK. “As I was talking to the man I could see a bag of marijuana inside his coat pocket. The man surrendered the marijuana and he was cited for PCS Less than an Oz. Marijuana and released.
