Drug transaction
A 25-year old male was arrested Nov. 20, 9:23 p.m., after an Oregon State Police trooper allegedly “observed a hand to hand transaction near the Astro gas station in Empire.” According to an OSP report, “I made contact with one of the males involved. During the contact, the male was found to be in possession of a rinse baggie with suspected methamphetamine residue.” A charge of PCS Meth will be referred to the Coos Co. District Attorney’s Office on Casey Alan Nelson.

Hwy. 38 Accident
No one was injured when a westbound white Hyundai Accent went off the right-hand shoulder of Hwy. 38, near Wilson Canyon Lane, Nov. 21, 7:57 a.m. According to an OSP report, 23-year old Corina Olivia Romiger, Salem, overcorrected and the vehicle crossed both lanes of the highway before traveling off the roadway where it stock nose first into the earth & rock embankment beyond the eastbound shoulder. The vehicle rolled once before coming to rest upright off the roadway. The driver was cited for Failure to Drive within her Lane.

Warrant
A 29-year old male was arrested Nov. 21, 1:29 p.m., after a white Chevrolet Tahoe was stopped on North Bay Road for Failure to Maintain a Lane. According to an OSP report, a passenger, Richard Luck, was found to be wanted on a felony warrant for Probation Violation. He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

DWS
A records check of a driver stopped Nov. 23, 6:41 p.m., on the Cape Arago Hwy. at Boat Basin Dr., in Charleston for Defective Lighting, revealed 54-year old Kenneth Dale Barney, Coos Bay, “had not had a license since 1988.” According to an OSP report, “he has a clear history of DWS and was not going to stop operating an uninsured vehicle.” The blue Ford LL was impounded, and Barney was cited for DWS Violation and Driving Uninsured.

DUII
A 1987 Toyota Camry, stopped Nov. 24, 3:12 p.m., for an equipment violation, led to the driver’s arrest. According to an OSP report, 39-year old Dawn Christine Davis was arrested and detained by her Probation Officer. The right front passenger, 30-year old Thomas Evor Bishop was found to be in violation of his probation and was also detained by his Probation Officer. Both were transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Sex Offender
A male stopped on a bicycle for “traveling down the highway at night without lighting on his bicycle, led to a criminal citation for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. According to an OSP report, 23-year old Jiahston Ray Jones, Myrtle Point, was stopped on Hwy. 42 at Quiet Valley Lane, Nov. 24, 7:11 p.m. His bicycle was turned over to the Myrtle Point PD.

Unreadable License Plate
A red Ford Ranger, stopped Nov. 25, 10:02 a.m., for an unreadable license plate, led to an arrest. According to an OSP report, a records check of 32-year old Robert Lee Senn, Bandon, revealed an outstanding felony warrant for Parole Violation on a weapons offense. He was taken into custody and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Expired Tags
A red Honda Accord, stopped Nov. 25, 2:19 p.m., for expired tags, led to an arrest. According to an OSP report, an investigation revealed that 28-year old Joseph Scott Lupher, Coos Bay, was driving while suspended and uninsured. He was also on probation and in violation of numerous restrictions. “The subject was detained by his probation officer and a consent search of his vehicle revealed methamphetamine residue and paraphernalia. He was transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.
