Oregon X-Country, Aug. 15

Oregon cross country fans will have three chances to see the Ducks run in person in the fall, as the newly released 2017 schedule features a trio of home meets hosted at the Springfield Golf Club, including the Pac-12 Championships meet. “We’re very excited to be able to host three meets here in Oregon,” said head coach Robert Johnson. “We don’t usually get to compete in front of the Oregon faithful more than once or twice during the cross country season, so we’re thrilled to be able to host three meets in Springfield, including the Pac-12 Championships. It will be a great 2017 season for our kids and our home fans.” The Men and Women of Oregon will open the 2017 season in Springfield with the Oregon XC Preview on September 7, and a few weeks later will host the Dellinger Invitational in Springfield on September 29. The Ducks’ first competition away from Oregon in 2017 will be at the Pre-Nationals Invitational on October 17, hosted by Louisville in Louisville, Ky. Oregon will then return home to prepare for the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships, which the Ducks will host in 2017. The best runners from the conference will flock to Springfield on October 27 to compete for the Pac-12 individual and team crowns. The 2017 postseason will begin on November 10 in Seattle, Wash., where the Ducks will travel to for the NCAA West Regional Championships. The NCAA Championships, where the Women of Oregon pulled off a thrilling victory in 2016 to secure the first jewel in their eventual Triple Crown, will be held in Louisville on November 18 to round out the 2017 cross country season.
