OSAA 3A Boys Tourney
Two-time defending 3A boys state champion De La Salle North Catholic fell in the opening round of the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union Boys State Basketball Championships Thursday at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay. The Knights were beaten 58-51 by Oregon Episcopal in the first game. The Aardvarks advance to the championship semi-finals to play Creswell which downed Amity 74-59 in the second game. Also advancing to the Final Four were St. Mary’s, Medford, which beat Salem Academy 71-55, and Cascade Christian, which beat Dayton 53-45 in the nightcap. Oregon Episcopal (20-7) & Creswell (21-5) play at 6:30 p.m., while St. Mary’s & Cascade Christian play at 8:15 p.m. De La Salle North Catholic (19-7) plays Amity (20-7) at 9 a.m. at North Bend in the Consolation Round, and Salem Academy (19-6) plays Dayton 22-7) at 10:45 a.m.

OSAA 3A Girls Tourney
Defending state champion Clatskanie beat Harrisburg 60-47 in an opening round OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 3A Girls State Basketball Tournament game at North Bend Thursday. The Tigers will face Brookings-Harbor in the championship semi-finals at 1:30 p.m., Marshfield High School, Coos Bay. The Bruins beat Willamina 53-37 in their opening game. Also advancing to the Final Four was Burns following 50-38 win over Pleasant Hill. The final game of the First Round went into overtime as Sutherlin outlasted Vale 66-57. Burns and Sutherlin play at 3:15 p.m. The consolation semi-finals at MHS will have Harrisburg & Willamina at 9 a.m., followed by Vale & Pleasant Hill at 10:45 a.m.
