No. 1 Dayton, No. 2 Horizon Christian, Tualatin are on a collision course if they can beat their semi-final opponents today at Marshfield High School at the 2015 OSAA U.S. Bank, Les Schwab Tires 3A Boys State Basketball Championship. Both teams won their openers Thursday at North Bend High School. Dayton downed Amity 40-26, Horizon Christian, Tualatin beat Nyssa 55-46, Salem Academy upset No. 4 Creswell 75-67 in two overtimes, and No. 6 Blanchet Catholic won over De La Salle North Catholic 39-36. Salem Academy and Dayton play at 1:45 p.m., and Blanchet Catholic and Horizon Christian, Tualatin play at 6 p.m. In morning consolation games, Amity and Creswell play at 8 a.m., followed by Nyssa and De La Salle North Catholic at 9:45 a.m

Defending state champion Vale won its opening game at the 2015 OSAA U.S. Bank, Les Schwab Tires 3A Girls State Basketball Championship at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay Thursday over No. 7 Portland Adventist Academy 52-35. In other opening games, No. 3 Dayton beat Portland Christian 42-26, No. 4 Salem Academy 44-37 over No. 5 Amity, and No. 8 St. Mary’s Medford downed Rainier 44-30. In semi-finals today, St. Mary’s Medford plays Salem Academy at noon at Marshfield High School, while Dayton and Vale play at 4:15 p.m. In consolation games this morning at North Bend H.S., Rainier and Amity play at 9 a.m., while Portland Christian and Portland Adventist Academy play at 10:45 a.m.

North Bend and Marshfield host OSAA 4A boys’ basketball playoff games tonight. The Bulldogs take on Yamhill-Carlton at 6:30 p.m., and the Pirates host Valley Catholic in an 8:30 p.m. game. The winners will advance to the OSAA 4A State Tournament March 12-14 at Liberty/Century high schools in Hillsboro.
