State football championships were played in all but the 6A classification for the Oregon Schools Activities Association (OSAA) Saturday. At Hillsboro Stadium, West Albany upset defending state champion Sherwood 21-20. Only in its second year of existence, Ridgeview, of Redmond, beat Cottage Grove 50-31 for the 5A title, also at Hillsboro Stadium. Two games were played at Summit High School in Bend. In the 3A championship, Cascade Christian, of Medford, beat Nyssa 41-6. In the 2A game, Grant Union, of John Day, downed Regis, of Stayton, 12-7. Back at Hillsboro Stadium, Imbler over Lowell in a shootout for the 1A eight-man championship, 88-76. Central Catholic and Jesuit play for the 6A championship Saturday, Dec. 7, at Jeld Wen Field in Portland.
