Impounding of Vehicles
The Oregon State Police continues its crack down on illegal drivers with multiple traffic stops and impoundment of vehicles in the Coos Co., Western Douglas Co. areas between Sept. 30 & Oct. 7. According to reports, twenty-one vehicles were impounded during the crackdown. A week earlier, troopers had 15 vehicles impounded. The crackdown has been a financial boom to the area’s tow companies. According to reports from the OSP, Sept. 30 – 2:13 p.m., Hwy. 42, mp 23, 31-year old Darci Lee Clauson, Powers, cited for No Operator’s License and Driving Uninsured. White GMC Jimmy impounded. 2:49 p.m., East Bay Road & Kentuck Way Lane, North Bend, 43-year old Anthony William Standfill arrested for Failure to Carry or Present Driver License, and Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor. Green Chrysler van impounded. Oct. 2, 4:23 p.m., Broadway & Waite, North Bend, 52-year old Scott Arlyn Strobele, Sunnyvale, found to be driving uninsured. Silver/aluminum Volkswagen Jetta impounded. 6:15 p.m., So. Morrison St. & Newmark Ave., Coos Bay, Dustin Jaymes Lee, North Bend, found to be driving while suspended and uninsured. White Ford F-250 impounded. Oct. 3 – 2:27 a.m., Old Wagon Road & Olive Barber Road, 30-year old Kenneth Stan Eck found to be Driving While Suspended and Driving Uninsured. Red Nissan Pathfinder impounded. 6:40 a.m., Hwy. 240 (Cape Arago Hwy.), mp3, 21-year old Whitney Jean Bell, Coos Bay, found to be driving uninsured. White Honda Civic impounded. 8:10 a.m., Virginia Ave. & Hayes St., 58-year old Debra Lynn Inman found to be driving without operator license and uninsured. Silver/aluminum Kia Sport impounded. 8:59 a.m., Crocker St. & Virginia Ave., Coos Bay, 33-year old Casey Ann Gandiaga, Coos Bay, found to be driving without Oregon driver license. Blue Ford F-150 impounded. 10:13 a.m., Hwy. 240, mp 2.2, passenger 29-year old Krystle Ann Whitlock, Coos Bay, found to have statewide misdemeanor warrant for FTA in Klamath Co. Arrested and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille. The driver, 55-year old Tami Lynne Whitlock, Coos Bay, found to be driving while suspended and uninsured. Oct. 4 – 7:22 a.m., Hwy. 101, mp 241, Coos Bay, 36-year old Lisa Ann Funnell, Coos Bay, found to be driving while suspended and uninsured. White Toyota impounded. 8:15 a.m., Commercial & 4th, Coos Bay, 42-year old Jeramie DeVault found to be driving while suspended misdemeanor and uninsured. Gold Saturn SL impounded. 9:16 a.m., 16th St. & Hwy. 240, 32-year old Crystal L. Scott, Coos Bay, found to driving while suspended and uninsured. Purple, mauve, Mazda MZ3 impounded. 12:01 p.m., Hwy. 101, mp 257, 54-year old Bernadette Cilia Adams, Coos Bay, found to be driving while suspended and uninsured. Black Honda Accord impounded. 1:51 p.m., Hwy. 101 & Hwy. 42S, Bandon, 18-year old Paul Raoul Ray Begins IV, Bandon, found to be driving while suspended and uninsured. Green Volkswagen Jetta impounded. 3:42 p.m., Hwy. 101 & Connecticut Ave., North Bend, 55-year old Matthew Kevin Ogara, North Bend, found to be driving uninsured. Dark green Plymouth Voyager impounded. Oct. 5 – Morrison & Lakeshore Dr., Coos Bay, “operator stopped for traffic violation, found to be in possession of a firearm in violation of an active restraining order. He was arrested and when searched found to be in possession of a meth pipe.” Twenty-three year old Tyler Joseph Scott Harden, North Bend, arrested and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille. Green Ford Explorer impounded.12:29 p.m., Hwy. 42, mp 9, 25-year old Whitney Bentley, Coquille, found to be driving while suspended and uninsured. White Plymouth ACC impounded. 2:38 p.m., Hwy. 101, mp 243, 45-year old Douglas Eugene Pizzola, North Bend, found to be driving uninsured. Red Chevrolet impounded. 3:34 p.m., Hwy. 101 and E. Hall Ave., Coos Bay, 26-year old Lauren Kay Ham, North Bend, found to driving while suspended. Blue Ford Taurus impounded. Oct. 6 – 10:33 a.m., Virginia Ave. & Harrison St., North Bend, 53-year old James Ervin Bramhall, Lakeside, found to be driving while suspended. White Saturn SL impounded. 12:08 p.m., Virginia Ave., & Hwy. 101, North Bend, 32-year old John Charles Schneider, North Bend, found to be driving while suspended and without SR-22, Silver/aluminum Dodge Neon impounded. Oct. 7 – 8:33 a.m., 30-year old Jerimah Anthony Reiber, North Bend, found to be driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failed to file for an SR-11. Black Honda Accord impounded.

School bus Squeezed
According to a report from the OSP, a school bus and a semi met at the Scottsburg Bridge Sept. 30, 6:38 p.m. “Operator and his passengers were traveling westbound, operator stated that an eastbound semi had failed to maintain its lane as it approached the bridge and the operator moved to the right, contacting the westbound guardrail at the west end of the bridge. Contact was made by the wheel lugs of the right front wheel. The contact caused minor damage to the guardrail, and damaged the steering mechanism and suspension on the bus. The operator and his passengers were not injured.” The vehicle was towed.

False Firearm Info
A 26-year old Coos Bay male was referred to the Coos Co. DA’s Office for consideration of charges after he allegedly “unlawfully attempted to purchase a firearm and he falsely completed the firearm purchase records at the time of the attempted purchase.” According to an OSP report, at the time of the transaction, 26-year old Samuel McCauley Bowling “was found to be out of custody on a release agreement on a separate charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.”

False Info
A 42-year old Coos Bay male was arrested Oct. 5, Olive Barber Rod and Isthmus Heights Cutoff, Eastside, after he allegedly gave an Oregon State Police Trooper false information. According to an OSP report, Brian Scott Rose was stopped in a dark blue Chevrolet Silverado for equipment violation. “I had existing PC to arrest for the same crime. Suspect arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail where he was found in possession of a marijuana pipe in the jail. Suspect was issued a criminal citation for False Information and violation citations for Operating without Proper Fenders and Fail to Change Address on Drivers License. Charges will be referred to the DA for the initial False Information crime and Introducing Contraband at the Jail.”
