OSP Turns to Public for Help, Nov. 9

On November 8, 2016 at about 4am, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a person laying in the median if Interstate 5 near milepost 269 northbound (just south of Woodburn). Emergency personnel arrived on scene and discovered an adult male deceased. Preliminary roadside evidence indicates the male was struck by a vehicle that had been traveling northbound on Interstate 5. The vehicle involved did not stop and OSP is seeking the public’s assistance on identifying the driver and vehicle involved in this crash. It is also believed other motorists may have stopped and left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. Anyone with information is urged to call 503-375-3555. The fast lane of Interstate 5 will be closed into the late morning as the crime scene is investigated. The OSP Crime Lab is also responding to assist with the investigation.  Update:  OSP is continuing it’s investigation into Tuesday morning’s crash on Interstate 5 that took the life of a pedestrian. Evidence left behind from the suspect vehicle indicates it was an early 2000’s Ford Focus, silver in color with driver’s side damage. OSP is seeking the public’s assistance in any information on this vehicle or who may have been operating the vehicle. Anyone with information is urged to call 503-375-3555. The male pedestrian has been identified but OSP is ensuring family has been notified prior to releasing his name. More information will be released as it becomes available.
