OSU release – WCWS STORYLINES – • Oregon State (39-20, 9-15) makes their first appearance since 2006 and second overall at the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City. • For the first time since NCAA Super Regionals debuted in 2005, three unseeded teams have advanced to the World Series. Joining the Beavers are the Texas Longhorns and Arizona Wildcats. • The WCWS begins Thursday, June 2 as the Beavers play the third game of the tourney versus No. 14 Florida (48-17, 13-11 SEC) at 4 p.m. PT. • Thursday’s game is available to watch on ESPN. • Tickets for the WCWS are available via beavertickets.com or NCAAtickets.com A GLANCE AT THE GATORS – • Oregon State and Florida meet for the fourth time in program history Thursday evening. The Gators are 3-0 against the Beavers. • The Gators, who finished fifth in the SEC, come to OKC after winning the Blacksburg Super Regional and Gainesville Regional. They hold a 5-1 record in the NCAA Tournament, with their only loss coming to Supers-host No. 3 Virginia Tech last Saturday by a count of 6-0. • The Gators are led by two players that are batting over .400, including Skylar Wallace (.406, 71 hits, 79 runs, 53 RBIs, 12 doubles) and Kendra Falby (.401, 83 hits, 63 runs, three triples). Elizabeth Hightower has thrown 163.2 innings on the year and holds a 2.44 ERA. Lexie Delbrey (2.20 ERA, 108 IP, 116 strikeouts) was exceptional in the supers, striking out six Hokies in seven innings.
