OSU release – CORVALLIS, Ore. – Only three games into her collegiate career and Timea Gardiner already needs to make a little room in her trophy case. The freshman from Ogden, Utah earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors on Monday after a standout performance against Oregon. She scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting, the best shooting percentage among Pac-12 freshmen who attempted at least one shot. This is the second time in school history that multiple Oregon State freshman have earned a weekly award. Sasha Goforth and Talia von Oelhoffen both earned freshman of the week honors in 2021. Gardiner’s honor marks the fourth Pac-12 Freshman of the Week award for Oregon State this season. Eight of the 11 awards this season have come to the state of Oregon, with the Beavs and Ducks earning four apiece. Gardiner and the Beavs head to the Bay this weekend to take on No. 3 Stanford and California. OSU squares off with the Cardinal at 8 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks on Friday before taking on the Golden Bears at 1 p.m. on Sunday in a game televised on Pac-12 Oregon.
