The Oregon State volleyball team played in front of Beaver Nation for the first time in 2018 Friday evening in the annual Orange & Black Scrimmage. While the event was the first opportunity for fans to get a glimpse of this year’s squad, it was also the first time six newcomers were able to perform in a game environment at OSU. Team Orange won all three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-18. Despite the scores, third-year head coach Mark Barnard was the pleased with the result, choosing to watch from the sideline while assistant coaches Jessica Quinn and Ron Zwerver directed the intrasquad match. The Beavers open the regular season when they travel to the Midwest to participate in the Iowa State Challenge. OSU will face Virginia at 2 p.m. PT to begin the tournament on Friday, Aug. 24 and will then take on Ole Miss (10 a.m. PT) and Iowa State (4:30 p.m. PT) the next day.
