Oregon State’s wrestling team is off to a good start for the 2023-24 season. The Beavers beat Queens University of Charlotte 58-0 at Chapel Hill, NC on Nov. 2. Also that day, OSU downed Greensboro College 55-0 and host North Carolina 24-13. SALEM, Va. – Wrapping up the first weekend of action of the season on the east coast, Nov. 4th the Oregon State wrestling team had 12 end the day with podium finishes – including four champions – at the Southeast Open. Gabe Whisenhunt (133) and Trey Muñoz (184) both ran the table and took down ranked opposition on the way to the individual crowns on the afternoon. Travis Wittlake and Mason Reiniche – who was competing unattached – were named co-champs at 174 after agreeing to a no-contest in the championship. Brandon Kaylor (125), Cleveland Belton (141) and Kekana Fouret (165) followed with second place finishes while Justin Rademacher (197) and Boone McDermott (HWT) had third-place performances. Next up is Iowa, at Iowa, Nov. 19th.
