OSU release – EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon State track and field team completed the Oregon Relays on Saturday at Hayward Field. “It was a small group competing this weekend,” said head coach Louie Quintana. “We saw some real nice improvements from Claire Corbitt in the long jump and hurdles. She’s really starting to put the pieces together which is exciting for her heptathlon at Pac-12s. Lindsay (McShane) was figuring some things out in the hammer, but was able to work through some kinks to win the event with an over 60m throw. We are ready to put on a great meet next week at home.” The Beavers were led with a pair of PRs in the 1500m from Batya Beard (4:31.68) who finished seventh and Maddie Fuhrman (4:35.35) to place 10th. Meagen Lowe clocked the best finish in the event for OSU, coming in fifth with a time of 4:28.89. Claire Corbitt opened the event for herself with a long jump PR of 5.64m to claim fifth. Corbitt ran to ninth in the 200m (25.66) and closed the relays out with a third-place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.71, a season-best mark. Tarisa Olinski posted a 200m time of 25.72 to earn 10th in the event. She finished second in the 400m on Saturday morning, clocking in at 57.70. Lindsay McShane has now won all six hammer throw events on the year after posting a throw of 61.31m at the Oregon Relays. She claimed fourth in the discus with a distance of 46.67m. Sydney Guthrie-Baker claimed third in both the shot put (13.32m) and hammer throw (55.69m). Next Up: Oregon State will host the OSU High Performance Meet on April 30 and May 1 at the Whyte Track and Field Center.
