Oregon State cross country, along with first year head coach Louie Quintana, are excited to announce the schedule for the 2017 season. Featuring four meets inside the state of Oregon, the Beavers will have ample opportunity to showcase their talent locally. “I think this year, being new to the group and sort of the way our schedule played out in the back half with the conference meet being in Eugene, Ore. and the regional meet being in Seattle, Wash., I felt like it would be beneficial to our team to stay local, and focus on our training instead of spending extra days travelling,” began head coach Louie Quintana. “Let’s minimalize our level of travel, and get after our training.” Oregon State opens the season on September 17 at the Oregon XC Preview, hosted by the University of Oregon in Springfield, Ore. The Beavers return to Springfield a few weeks later on September 29 for the Dellinger Invitational. Following the season opener, the Beavers head to West Seattle, Wash. on September 16 for the Sundodger Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington. “We are going to go to Eugene (Oregon) a couple times early in the season, we’ll go to Seattle (Washington),” continued Quintana. “It is an opportunity for us to see more bodies compete and travel more people to early races, but really it allows us to maximize our training that first six to eight weeks of the season.” The Beavers first long road trip of the season takes place the weekend October 14 in Sunnyvale, Calif. for the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara University. Oregon State concludes the regular season at home in Corvallis, Ore. with the Beaver Classic on October 21.
