Out-of-state travel garners positive COVID-19 tests for Bay Area Hospital staff, July 14

BAH release – Coos Bay, Oregon, July 13, 2020: Two employees of Bay Area Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19. Both of these employees had out-of-state travel where they reported coming into contact with family who later tested positive with COVID-19. Both employees are doing well at home. Neither employee required hospitalization. One employee with mild symptoms continues to work from home. The other employee will return to work after appropriate quarantine. With the increase in infection control precautions put into place with the hospital COVID-19 response, there is no reason to believe that any patients were exposed to the virus through contact with either employee. The public needs to remember personal health maintenance is important and doctor’s offices, dental offices, and the hospital are a safe place to be due to the stringent infection prevention measures that are in place. Bay Area Hospital reminds the public to wear face coverings while in indoor public places or outside places where you cannot maintain at least 6 feet of physical distance between yourself and other people. Wash your hands frequently and try to remember not to touch your face. For more information on Bay Area Hospital, visit www.bayareahospital.org
