Join writer Bonnie Olin for a richly-illustrated journey into the canyonlands of the Owyhee River in Oregon, Nevada, and Idaho. Olin gives a free talk about the Owyhee at the North Bend Public Library on Thursday, February 4 at 6:30pm. This program is based on her book, The Owyhee River Journals, which includes 125 color photos of rarely seen landscapes by photographer Mike Quigley, created over 22 years of exploring the river. Ms. Olin will share a brief history of the area, discuss why it is unique, read a short excerpt from the book, and show a 20-minute video of a 2006 expedition into Deep Creek and the East Fork of the Owyhee. Her presentation will be followed by a question and answer period and a book signing. This program is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the Friends of the North Bend Public Library.
