Good opener to the 2022 collegiate football season for Oregon State, bad for Oregon Saturday. The Ducks went to the southeast to play defending national champion Georgia and had their lunch handed to them 49-3. OSU opened at home to Boise State in Corvallis and beat the Broncos 34-17. The Beavers (1-0) play at Fresno State Saturday, Sept. 10, 7:30p, CBS TV. Oregon (0-1) will host Eastern Washington Saturday, 5:30p, Pac-12 Networks. Former Marshfield athlete Cory Stover made his first career start for OSU at outside linebacker.

Oregon’s volleyball team won its own Oregon Invitational Saturday by downing Rice 3-2. The Ducks (4-0) are scheduled to compete in the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge on Friday, Sept. 9, 5:30p, against Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, on the Big Ten Network. Oregon State won two-out-of-three at Houston, TX. The Beavers beat Alabama 3-2 on Friday, knocked off Central Arkansas 3-0 on Saturday, but lost to Houston 3-2 on Saturday. OSU (2-3) is scheduled to play North Texas at Corvallis on Friday, Sept. 9, 10a, Oregon State Livestream.

Oregon’s women fell to visiting Boise State 3-1 in a collegiate soccer match at Eugene Sunday. The Ducks (1-1-3) are scheduled to host Santa Clara on Thursday, 6p, Pac-12 Networks. Oregon State’s men fell to visiting Seton Hall 1-0 Friday at Corvallis. The Beavers (1-1-1) are scheduled to play at UC Santa Barbara on Friday, Sept. 9, 7p. OSU’s women lost at UC Davis Sunday, 2-1. The Beavers (3-1-2) are scheduled to play at Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, on Thursday, Sept. 8, 3p.
