Paint along at North Bend Public Library, Jan. 14

On Thursday, January 14 at 11 am, artist Janne LaValle will lead a “paint along” via Zoom for the North Bend Public Library. While supplies last, acrylic paint, canvas, and brushes will be distributed to those who register, and can be picked up at the library January 8 through 13. LaValle, a resident of Lakeside, is an award-winning artist with a specialty in murals. She has shepherded amateur artists through paint along sessions in coastal Oregon, Southern California, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The featured painting LaValle has created is called “Winter Cabin.” For those who wish to paint along using their own materials, the colors are cobalt blue, primary yellow, yellow oxide, red, white, and, burnt umber. Acceptable reds are primary red, crimson, napthol red, cadmium red light or cadmium red medium. The canvas is eleven by fourteen inches. Other supplies people will need are water, paper towels, and something to use as a palate (a plate works well). To reserve a kit, please call the library. Supplies are limited.
