A 56-year old Coquille male was struck by a vehicle early Wednesday morning, Feb. 16, while walking his dog on West Central Blvd. According to a news release from the Coquille PD, but distributed by Coos Co. DA R. Paul Frasier, “about 1:30 a.m. the Coquille Police were dispatched to a vehicle crash where a Coquille man was struck by a vehicle immediately after another car struck his dog on West Central Boulevard. The victim has been identified as Charles Chew, 56, from Coquille. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.” Investigators are looking for a 2014-18 white Jeep crossover style vehicle. “There may be visible damaged areas to the front of the vehicle.” Anyone with information is asked to contact the Coquille Police Dept. at 541 396-2114.
