On October 27, 2016 shortly at approximately 8:45pm, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Highway 99 at milepost 11, which is in Jackson County. The area of the crash is just north of Phoenix. The preliminary investigation indicates a 2004 Ford Ranger operated by 64 year old Henry ENGLEHARDT, age 64, of Medford was southbound on Hwy 99 when Kevin WOOLRIDGE, age 55, of Phoenix, walked in front of the vehicle and was struck. WOOLRIDGE was transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center and later died of his injuries on Saturday morning (October 29).
