Pilot & Passenger Identified from Plane Wreck near Winchester Bay

The small home-built airplane that went down in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area south of Winchester Bay Sunday, Nov. 17, was piloted by 53-year old Ron Schick of North Bend.  He was not injured when the Single-engine, two-seater lost power and he had to make an emergency landing.  However, his passenger, 73-year old Rich Smith, of Lakeside, was airlifted to RiverBend Hospital in Springfield and admitted to Intensive Care.
