Marshfield’s boys are the preseason favorite in the first OSAA 4A Basketball Poll for the 2021-2022 prep season. The Pirates return the nucleus of a team that won the 4A Showcase earlier this year. Cascade comes in at No. 2, followed by league foe Marist Catholic at No. 3 and Philomath at No. 4. Seaside is No. 5, followed by Junction City at No. 6. Bandon shows up at No. 8 in the 2A Classification. In the girl’s preseason poll, Brookings-Harbor is No. 7 in the 3A poll, while Bandon is No. 2 in the 2A Poll.
