Point-In-Time Volunteers Sought for Homeless Count, Jan. 16

City of North Bend release – Volunteers are needed for the annual “Point-in-Time” count on January 25, 2023. Why volunteer? Because the data is used for state and federal funding decisions to address homelessness issues in our community. The Point-in-Time counts sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness on a single night each January. HUD requires that Continuums of Care conduct an annual count of people experiencing homelessness who are sheltered in emergency shelters, transitional housing, and Safe Havens on a single night. Continuums of Care also must conduct a count of unsheltered people experiencing homelessness every other year (odd-numbered years). Each count is planned, coordinated, and carried out locally. Contact Tara Johnson (tarajohnson@thedevereuxcenter.org) or Scott Cooper (scottc@aya1.org) for more information or to volunteer.
