A North Oregon Coast police department has canned its latest recruit. “Cash,” the newest drug-sniffing member of the Cannon Beach Police Dept. didn’t make the grade after months of training. The two-year old Belgian Malinois turned out to be skittish, afraid of heights and barked, a lot. The department acquired “Cash” after raising $27,000 for the K-9 Officer Program earlier this year. However, during four-weeks of training between September and October, “Cash” didn’t progress as well as other dogs. He was returned to his original handler.
