Powers Recall Election, Sept. 30

According to unofficial final returns for the recall of three Powers City Councilors Tuesday night from the Elections Dept. at the Coos County Courthouse in Coquille, all three were recalled. With a voter turnout of 65.05%, Joseph M. George lost 157-votes to 84 (65.15% – 34.85%); Jackie Ray McDaniel fell 174-67 (72.20% – 27.80%); Mearl W. McDaniel Jr. lost 167-72 (69.87% – 30.13%).
