Prefontaine Run, Sept. 17

A brother and sister from Klamath Falls won the individual races Saturday during the 39th Annual Prefontaine Memorial 10K Run in Coos Bay.  Sixteen year old Benjamin Blake won the overall race in 35:16, while his 15-year old sister Eliza won the women’s race in 41:00 and was 24th overall.  Daniels Beckstead won the High School 5K race in a new meet record 15:48.  Marshfield’s Chandler Pruett was seventh (17:09).  North Bend’s Tyson Flitcroft placed 24th (18:11) to lead the Bulldogs.  Faith Schultz of Grants Pass won the girl’s race (18:50).  Marshfield’s Jazmin Chavez was fourth (19:04).  Celeste Sinko led North Bend with a 17th place finish (21:07).  Roseburg won the girl’s race with 65-points, Grants Pass was second with 76, followed by Burns 94.  Marshfield was sixth (152), and North Bend placed 9th (242).  Grants Pass won the boy’s team race with 59-points, Marshfield came in second (74), followed by Burns (75).  North Bend was 8th (224).
