North Bend’s girls opened the 2021/22 prep basketball season with a 33-22 win over visiting Roseburg Friday, Dec. 3. The Bulldogs continued on Saturday with a 50-29 win at Creswell. North Bend’s boys lost 53-32 at Roseburg Friday. On Saturday, the Bulldogs dropped a 67-29 game at Creswell. North Bend hosts Siuslaw Monday, 5:45 p.m. girl’s game, 7:15 p.m. boy’s game.

Marshfield’s boys took third place at the Wilsonville Invitational Tournament Sunday. The Pirates opened the three-day tourney Friday with a 56-42 win over Springfield. On Saturday, the Pirates fell to Crescent Valley 75-41 as the Raiders dropped 15 three’s on Marshfield. Sunday, the Pirates played Liberty out of Hillsboro. The Falcons also unleashed a flurry of 3’s, but Marshfield stayed close. The game went into overtime with the Pirates prevailing 67-64. Marshfield (2-1) plays at North Bend Tuesday.
