The 2023-24 prep basketball season got underway with pre-season games Wednesday night. North Bend opened with a 77-48 win over visiting Siuslaw. Bandon downed visiting Brookings-Harbor 48-34. Reedsport won at New Hope Christian 65-51. Myrtle Pt. beat visiting Mohawk 78-30. In girl’s games, Myrtle Pt. over visiting Mohawk 61-34. Pacific fell at Camas Valley 55-49. North Bend beat visiting Siuslaw 50-12.

In prep basketball games Thursday, Nov. 30, Brookings-Harbor’s girls go to the Yreka, CA Tournament. McKenzie plays Powers at the Mapleton Tournament. In boy’s games, Powers at Mapleton for the Mapleton Invitational.
OSAA/Coach’s Bxb Polls
The first OSAA/Coach’s prep basketball polls have been released. In the girl’s 4A, Marshfield is ranked No. 6. Astoria is ranked first, followed by Henley and Cascade. Coquille shows up tied for eighth with Burns in the 3A. Bandon is No. 2 in the 2A. No South Coast boy’s teams made the first poll of the season.
