Marshfield’s basketball teams opened the second-half of District 4 league play with a split at Junction City Friday night. The Lady Pirates (4-1, 14-5) won 54-30, but the Pirate boys (0-5, 8-12) fell to the league-leading Tigers (5-0, 19-2) 68-31. Marshfield host Cottage Grove Tuesday at Coos Bay. The Pirates have four-games remaining in the regular season.

North Bend’s basketball teams lost a pair of District 4 league games to visiting Marist Catholic Friday. The Bulldog boys (1-4, 7-11) lost 68-42, while the girls (1-4, 6-14) fell 51-29. North Bend hosts Junction City Tuesday. The Bulldogs have three-games remaining in the regular season.
