Marshfield’s girls’ and boys’ basketball teams are ranked high to begin the 2018-19 4A prep season. In the first Coach’s Poll released through the OSAA Monday, Marshfield’s girls, the defending champions, are the unanimous pick at No. 1 followed by Banks, North Marion, Hidden Valley, Stayton, Marist Catholic, Newport, Baker, Valley Catholic & Cottage Grove. In the boy’s poll, Marshfield is No. 2 behind defending state champion Seaside. Following the Pirates are Stayton, Valley Catholic, Banks, Marist Catholic, Philomath, Newport, Henley & La Grande.
