Both North Bend and Marshfield won their prep football games at home Friday night to improve to 2-0. The Bulldogs bettered Philomath 54-7, while the Pirates came-from-behind to beat Phoenix 25-18. This week, North Bend travels to Cascade (1-1), and Marshfield goes to Junction City (0-2). Junction City lost at Tillamook 13-7, and Cascade won in overtime at home over Sisters 17-14. Other Far West League teams: Brookings-Harbor lost at Hidden Valley 37-6; Douglas beat Sutherlin 19-14; Pleasant Hill downed Siuslaw 45-18; and, So. Umpqua beat North Valley 32-8 at Marshfield in Coos Bay. This week: Siuslaw (0-2) at Newport; Douglas (1-1) at Hidden Valley; Phoenix at So. Umpqua (1-1), and Brookings-Harbor (0-2) is scheduled to host The Dalles.
